Original Abstract
The paper presents a reliability analysis of reinforced concrete (RC) columns with short direct embedded cantilevers in the manufacturing hall Kovolit Modrice Co., Czech Republic. The bearing capacity of short direct embedded cantilevers of RC columns is increased by internal prestressing cables. The method of strengthening as well as FEM analysis previous to prestressing design and construction is described. Results of deterministic and reliability analysis of RC columns in different construction states are presented. The modern simulation technique Updated Latin Hypercube Sampling with 50 simulations is used for reliability analysis. For the analysed construction cases, the estimates of mean value, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, skewness, and minimal and maximal values of the principal stresses in six points on the expected shear crack in the location of the short cantilever are obtained. Also the input variables with significant influence on the structural behavior are shown.
