Original Abstract

This poster presents a new model for elastic wave propagation in biological materials such as bones and the skull. The code was accelerated using the CUDA language and reached a speed-up of 5.4 when compared to the Matlab prototype running on the same GPU. However, when comparing a CPU implementation running on a 16 core machine with an Nvidia Pascal P100 GPU, the GPU code reached a speed-up of over 100.
