Original Abstract

Constantly increasing consumption of pharmaceuticals along with the low capacity of wastewater treatment plants for the effective elimination of these compounds from water is inevitably leading to the emissions of pharmaceuticals into the environment. In our work, we used the combination of passive sampling along with grab sampling technique to evaluate the pharmaceutical contamination of two Scottish rivers, river Dee, and river Thurso.
