Original Abstract

The article explores the significance of alternative digital imaging tools on contemporary architectural development trend that addresses global issues of sustainability. The author conducted in-depth research and detailed comparisons between existing industry standard and alternative architectural design software and hardware, so that aspects concerning availability, basic requirements of application and practical effectiveness of existing digital imaging tools are thoroughly explored. The article draws invaluable implications from its first hand raw data research results to assess the significance of digital imaging tools on architectural development trending towards sustainable development goals. Selection of relevant digital imaging tools was carried out after thorough workflow examination across multiple operating platform targeting different hardware choices, while monetary requirement of acquisition and usage of the selected tools is considered for analysis on the aspect of scale and experience of architectural studios. The author then practically compares data pipeline relationship between actual application to further explore how much computer-aided architectural design (CAD) tools have effect on final outcome of the architectural designing stage. Emphasis centers around limitation of existing industrial standards and the urge for new methods to meet 21st century sustainable development challenges. The author concludes with a new insight addressing the issue of stagnet architectural development not only to the limited studied CAD tools market at the design process, but also to related construction material and education fields that are commonly overlooked in the discussion of architectural development when sustainability is prioritised. Overall, the article is worthwhile for anyone interested in the subject matter, and provides invaluable first hand research data for further studies on this topic which worth more attention.
