Original Abstract

This paper is devoted to the calculation of the relative optical intensity of passing solar radiation to a selected depth below the water surface. The spectral character of solar noise at a given depth depends on the vertical chlorophyll concentration profile. Four depth profiles of chlorophyll concentration are modeled in the paper. Two of the profiles represent a very pure water environment and the other two profiles represent rather pure water with respect to chlorophyll pollution. The work shows the spectral attenuations of the optical signal for selected depths and defined chlorophyll concentration profiles. The work shows that under certain circumstances we can consider layers of water with a higher concentration of chlorophyll as a filter of solar noise. The results of the work can be used to assess the solar noise level in the selected depths, where the solar noise can negatively affect the qualitative and quantitative parameters of the useful optical signal.
