Original Abstract

In this article, the model for impactions of micron-size fly ash on a powdery deposit is proposed and implemented in CFD code ANSYS Fluent. The aim is to account for the particle adhesion to the deposit and the effect of the deposit roughness and loose bounds in the particulate deposit. Both the roughness and deformability of the deposit are expected to increase the local fouling rates. This was confirmed by a comparison of the results produced by the simple smooth-wall model and the model accounting for the roughness and deformation.
