Original Abstract
This abstract focuses on pulsed-field ablation (PFA), which is a form of irreversible electroporation (IRE). In contrast to other ablation techniques, e.g. radiofrequency ablation (RFA), innovative PFA has a big potential for cardiac ablation since it is tissue-selective and with minimal danger to patients. In this work, we present 3D FEM simulations of ablation inside the heart with a focus on various parametric analyses, including electric field and temperature distribution in the tissue. Main focus was to determine what variables has relevant effect on lesion volume, such as blood velocity, the angle of the catheter-tissue contact, catheter pressure, as well as pulse generator parameters. It is important to know what variables is possible to neglect for next research.
