Original Abstract
The transient excitation of a narrow slot in a perfectly electrically conducting (PEC) screen is analyzed with the aid of the Cagniard-DeHoop method of moments (CdH-MoM). The problem is approached via its weak form using the electromagnetic (EM) reciprocity theorem of the time-convolution type. Subsequently, under the assumption that the unknown electric field induced in the slot can be linearly interpolated between the nodes of the discretized space-time solution domain, the reciprocity relation is analytically cast into a system of equations of the discrete time-convolution type that can be solved using the updating marching-on-in-time (MOT) technique. Illustrative numerical examples decisively demonstrate the validity of the introduced time-domain (TD) integral-equation (IE) model.
