Original Abstract
This work aims to study the influence of excitation energy of spectral lines on signal enhancement in collinear double-pulse laser induced breakdown spectroscopy. The experiments were performed on steel and brass under different laser fluences. Different from the exponential trend reported in the literature, we have obtained a linear correlation between the enhancement and upper-level energy of spectral lines in the collinear configuration. The linear trend observed was theoretically explained by plasma characterization.
