Original Abstract

Ornament a barva jsou propojeny s tradicí a v minulosti dokázaly jejich význam v architektuře a interiéru. Vzhledem k současným trendům v navrhování interiérů, kde modernistická estetika vylučuje ornament a barevnost, má současný tradicionalismus nezastupitelné místo v utváření kvalitního životního prostoru. Absence ornamentu a barevnosti cítím jako degradaci architektury na pouhý fyzický objekt bez dalšího významu. Ornament a barevnost nejsou samostatnými subjekty, nýbrž vyžadují nosnou matrici, v případě architektury zeď, omítku, kamenný sloup, dřevěnou konstrukci, v interiéru nábytek, vitráž, koberec, záclony atd.

English abstract

Ornament and colour are linked to tradition and have proven their importance in architecture and interior design in the past. Given current trends in interior design, where modernist aesthetics exclude ornament and colour, contemporary traditionalism has an irreplaceable place in shaping quality living spaces. I feel the absence of ornament and colour is a degradation of architecture to a mere physical object with no further meaning. Ornament and colour are not separate entities but require a supporting matrix, in the case of architecture a wall, plaster, stone column, wooden structure, in the case of interior design furniture, stained glass, carpet, curtains, etc.
