Original Abstract
This paper presents an acquisition module for nondestructive testing (NDT) of aircraft composite structures. The module was designed with multiple inputs, which allows data to be acquired in parallel in order to speed up the process of obtaining a large amount of data. The collected data are then sent to a computer for data processing and structural damage diagnosis. The design was described by using VHDL (Very high-speed integrated circuit Hardware Describe Language) and implemented in FPGA (Field Programmable Logic Array) Altera Cyclone II development board. The designed module is expected to monitor composite materials' structure health using the NDT technique of Electrical Impedance/Resistance Tomography (EIT/ERT).
