Original Abstract

BOOM! Symposium, which took place last fall during the Next Festival, brought together artists, curators, and theorists to critically reflect on contemporary issues related to music production and its social significance. Given the current crises and the war behind our borders, it is becoming more and more evident that perceiving music only through its aesthetic qualities is not enough. Whether covertly or openly, it carries a political message. It is, therefore, necessary to constantly re-evaluate and update the relationship between music and the society where it sounds.
