Original Abstract

Oleyl-hyaluronan (O-HA) is an amphiphilic polysaccharide that can be used as a drug carrier. Its self-assembly was improved when using a solvent with ions due to charge compensation on the HA backbone. Moreover, the functional properties such as drug loading capacity and its penetration into the skin were enhanced. Interactions with serum proteins are often considered a bottleneck for carriers' application. Interactions of O-HA and bovine serum albumin (BSA) were elucidated by various techniques and divided into three regimes. Structural changes were found and described. Resulting system retained the drug effectively.
