Original Abstract

Od konce 19. století se v dnešních státech severní Itálie, Slovinsko, Chorvatsko, ale i Bosna a Hercegovina a Černá Hora začal významně rozvíjet turismus. Důvodem byl rakousko-uherský kapitál: Rakušané i Češi vnímali Jadran jako svou riviéru, která je současně levná. Začali zde budovat nezbytné infrastruktury: hotely, lázně, restaurace, ale i banky ad. Tento sen trval do roku 1912, kdy se na Balkáně vyostřily politické konflikty mezi jednotlivými státy i vůči Rakousku. Mezitím však stačila celá řada podnikatelů a podnikavců z Čech na Jadranu investovat a přizvat k tomu významné architekty: Jana Kotěru, Josefa Schulze, Emila Králíčka, Adolfa Loose a další. Jak jejich projekty vypadaly, jak změnily místní přímořskou krajinu i podobu měst a jaké místo měly v kariérách svých tvůrců?

English abstract

From the end of the 19th century, tourism began to develop significantly in today's states of northern Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. The reason was Austro-Hungarian capital: Austrians and Czechs perceived the Adriatic as their riviera, which is also cheap. They started building the necessary infrastructure here: hotels, spas, restaurants, but also banks, etc. This dream lasted until 1912, when political conflicts between individual states and against Austria intensified in the Balkans. In the meantime, however, it was enough for a number of businessmen and entrepreneurs from Bohemia on the Adriatic to invest and to invite important architects: Jan Kotěra, Josef Schulz, Emil Králíček, Adolf Loos and others. What did their projects look like, how did they change the local seaside landscape and the shape of cities, and what place did they have in the careers of their creators?
