Original Abstract

Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis of contact problems is a critical tool in engineering and science, enabling the simulation and assessment of interactions between bodies that can touch, separate, or slide against each other. This abstract outlines the fundamental principles and steps involved in FEM analysis of contact problems, emphasizing the use of elastoplastic models to capture realistic material behavior under various loading conditions. The simulation of a detailed rivet joint will be presented in more detail within the article.
