Original Abstract
The manufacture of Light Pumpcrete and Light Self Compacting Concrete (LSCC) which is discussed in this paper extends in the present time. The function of structural dense light concrete is the carrying capacity and the main demand is the sufficient strength under utilization of low volume mass. The light concrete from lightweight porous aggregates has from technological point of view in comparison with normal concrete certain differences, which should be respected in design, manufacture and placing. These differences are especially different conditions when pumping light concrete in comparison with normal concrete and they are given with elevated water absorption of lightweight aggregates especially under pressure. The problem with LSCC during design is not only the mentioned water absorption of aggregates but even the low volume mass. LSCC utilizes its own weight for flow and when light-weight aggregates are used, it has not enough high internal kinetic energy, in comparison with concrete containing natural aggregates it is slightly slower and it flows badly through the close standing reinforcement. For this reason the verification was necessary of methods for checking the rheology of fresh LSCC. The test results of physico-mechanical properties, homogeneity and further properties of LSCC are presented in conclusion.
