Original Abstract
The poster reviews the impact of adding chemicals (additivation) to sewage sludge during combustion on phosphorus (P) recovery from ash. The goal is to extract phosphorus, an essential nutrient for plant growth, from sewage sludge ash (SSA) to produce fertilizers. Additivation helps reduce heavy metals (HM) in the ash, making phosphorus more bioavailable. Different additives, such as chlorides and sulfates, are evaluated for their effectiveness in minimizing heavy metals while maintaining phosphorus recovery efficiency. However, challenges like high chloride content, cost-effective scalability, and alternative chemical sources need further exploration.
