Original Abstract
Increase of effectiveness of any equipment is the permanent aim of technological progress. Higher effectiveness lowers operation cost and reduced electricity consumption in the case of electrical devices. Lighting sources are the most numerous electrical appliances of all. Virtually every room is equipped with one lighting source or another and exterior areas, especially in urban zones, are also abundantly illuminated. Even though lighting sources have undergone extensive progress since Edison invented electrical bulb, incandescent sources still remain one of the largest groups of lighting sources, despite the fact that their effectiveness is one of the lowest among the currently used lighting types. Electrical bulbs do not seem to be disappearing from our lives in future and therefore this article deals with theoretical options of lighting by incandescent source radiation. The reader will find information clarifying the essence of calculation of lighting source effectiveness and learn about the options provided by the heat radiation spectrum with regard to effectiveness. The main objective of the article is to remind of physical limits for future development, restricting further improvement of bulbs as representatives of incandescent sources.
