Original Abstract

Americký Národní úřad pro letectví a vesmír (NASA) počátkem roku 2024 oznámil roční odklad misí Artemis II a Artemis III, které by měly v následujících letech zamířit k Měsíci, respektive na něm poprvé od konce programu Apollo v roce 1972 přistát. Cílem mise Artemis III bude přistání dvou astronautů. Základní seznam lokalit vhodných pro přistání představila NASA v srpnu 2022. Všechny se nacházejí v blízkosti lunárního jižního pólu. Vytipovaná oblast je ovšem postihována mladou seismickou aktivitou, která může mít negativní dopad na plánované lunární mise, a především na uvažovanou dlouhodobou, či dokonce stálou přítomnost člověka na Měsíci.

English abstract

At the beginning of 2024, NASA announced a one-year postponement of the Artemis II and Artemis III missions, which were supposed to head to the moon in the following years, or land on it for the first time since the end of the Apollo program in 1972. The goal of the Artemis III mission will be to land two astronauts. A basic list of sites suitable for landing was presented by NASA in August 2022. All are located near the lunar south pole. However, the selected area is affected by young seismic activity, which may have a negative impact on the planned lunar mission, and especially on the considered long-term or even permanent presence of man on the moon.
