Original Abstract
From the beginning of the industry utilization of the machines the engineers and technicians had to deal with the isolation, reduction and decreasing of the mechanical vibrations. The principles and methods of the damping and isolation of the vibration have become an integral part of the complex of project, design and construction of the machine. The requirements on the precise measurement and analysis of the mechanical vibration increased simultaneously. The Environmental Engineering studies on Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Brno University of Technology train the experts for design and operation of the ventilation, air-conditioning and heating equipments. As the segments of these equipments are sound and vibration sources and high noise level around these machines is very undesirable, the "Noise and vibration" course is an integral part of theirs studies. The effective method for understanding of the vibration problems is the acquirement of the practical experiences with vibration measurement. In our contribution we will present the laboratory measurement of the frequency characteristics of the machine mechanical vibrations with utilization of the modern measurement devices.
