Original Abstract

A weight-function-based approach is employed to modelling stable bridged crack growth in the chevron-notched three point bending specimen made of the glass matrix composite reinforced by long SiC fibres. A particular attention is paid to the selection of an appropriate constitutive model of unidirectional fibre reinforced composite which is capable to capture the inelastic strain related to matrix microcracking and matrix/fibre interface debonding and frictional sliding.
