Original Abstract

There is an increasing need for suitable electromagnetic field measuring at high frequencies lately, especially in EMC measurements. Thanks to this, there are increasing requirements of antennas which are used for this purpose too. One of the most important characteristics of antennas, that are used for the method, is constant transfer function across required frequency range. Suitable antenna for these measurements would be wideband antenna with constant transfer function and good sensitivity. We can achieve most of this characteristics by using resistive dipole which was proposed by Wu and King in 1965 [1]. Unfortunately, the antenna has only limited sensitivity due to resistive sheet which is used there. We will discuss one of the possibilities how to improve sensitivity for this type of antenna, where the idea of improvement is based on modification of resistive sheet shape along main dipole axis.
