Original Abstract
The paper focuses on the mind maps technique as one of procedures for the acquisition and processing of qualitative data in the area of cognitive psychology and creativity in the computer science and on the use of this technique for the development of creative thinking and creative social communication with respect to enhancing the efficiency of individual (corporate member), teams as well as of the entire organization. In the first part of the paper, the author gives a general characteristics of the metal map, methods of creating it, its formal and content analysis, and the benefits of the mental map technique. In the next part, a qualitative study conducted in 2007 of the creation of mind maps with an emphasis on understanding oneself is presented. Results of formal and context analysis of mental maps created are presented and discussed with comments on their similarities and differences. The paper also includes selected mental maps, their comparisons and comments, and thus further facilitates their use for both better understanding and development of individuals and their creativity, as well as for better cooperation in teams.
