Original Abstract
The Active Magnetic Bearing (AMB) is an integral part of permanent magnet synchronous motor, used as prototype of blood pump. This paper deals with analytic design of active magnetic bearings and how the finite element method can be used to perform the magnetic field analysis in this part of design. The electromagnetic field distribution and magnetic flux density analysis allow verifying the designed AMB and the influence of the shaft and coil current changes on the bearing parameters.
