Original Abstract
Modelling of loading tests of pre-tensioned monoblock railway sleepers is the main scope of the presented study. These tests are standartized by European Standards and they are employed for quality control of sleepers prosuction. Possibility of numerical simulation of one of the tests by means of nonlinear FEM code ATENA (based on fracture mechanical approach) is investigated. Previously calibrated material model of concrete is used here in numerical simulations of railway sleeper test. Degradation of materials of the sleepers is analysed using parametric study: Several examples showing trends and sensitivity of tested sleepers behaviour due to variation of values of different mechanical/fracture characteristics are given.
