Original Abstract
Design of electrical machinery is dependent on 3D CAD systems nowadays. Designing evolved from hand drawing where design and verification were difficult, through 2D CAD systems to present advanced systems combining all parts necessary for speeding-up the design phase of the manufacturing process. In 2D systems editing was possible but full control of the model using dimensions called parametric modelling was not available. Present systems fully support parametric modelling; here the model can be controlled by means of dimensions defined during the model creation. One of the main advantages of the 3D CAD systems is full associativity of single parts, assemblies, and drawings. In assemblies a visual check is possible or use of a specific functions for the check of interferences and contacts of parts. The creator of the subassembly of the machine uses these functions. However, more analyses are required in order to produce the proposal of the design - engineering analyses (this is the theme of this paper), which is mainly stress-strain analyses, analyses of limiting conditions and examination of the motion of the parts. During creation of a new design all matters of operation and function of the machine must be respected. Speed and economy of the design phase are among the criteria of success. Work sharing with help of present CAD systems during project realization is one of the important factors of success.
