Original Abstract

This contribution deals with clogging of porous filtration medium used in reed bed treatment plants and soil filters. Physical characteristics of porous filtration medium, especially its granularity, structure, texture, porosity, hydraulic conductivity etc., determine the final purification effect of reed bed treatment plant. The contribution briefly describes the factors causing clogging, the methods of determination, the influence of clogging on filtration attributes of filtration medium and outlines of the model, pilot and operation research.
