Original Abstract
The reliable numerical modelling of the process of non-stationary heat and moisture propagation in buildings cannot avoid the effect of moisture saturation in applied materials. The experiments show that the radiation thermal flow from the exterior surface of a structure can be even more important than the thermal loss caused by the heat conduction in a wall; the emission from the earth surface into the free space comes into being in two typical domains of wave-lengths. Especially in case of a lowly insolated wall this may result in the saturation of moisture in its cold outer layer, at most in cloudless nights, which starts the surface material degradation. The low thermal accumulation ability of the thin plaster with a large amount of water prepares good living conditions for the population of algae and for the consequent biocorrosion.
