Original Abstract
There are not very accurate thermo-physical data for materials used by investment casting foundries. Some of them were measured or computed in this project. We are using different methods for our research. The first point of our work was measuring of emissivity. A thermo camera was used as measuring equipment. It helped us to state right value of the shell emissivity. We tried also some other ways how to measure this value, but using the thermo camera seems as the most accurate. This was the first step but for our simulations we also need a correct value of a heat transfer coefficient. It can not be directly measured. Value of the heat transfer coefficient for shell-casting system must be obtained in two steps. The first step is to measure thermal fields and the second step is to run the inverse simulation. After finished experiments and numerical simulations we are allowed to say that the new data from our research bring new possibilities and improve a prediction of casting defects.
