Original Abstract
In various industrial applications it is often necessary to treat off-gases containing solid particulate matter, organic compounds and PCDD/F (dioxins and furans) with small concentration. Novel integrated equipment has been developed for this purpose, it combines separator / reactor system, i.e. filtration and adsorption (chemisorption) in one unit (see figure 1). This unit is very compact, efficient and may be constructed even as a mobile one. The filtration section serves for collection of solid particulate matter using conventional fabric filters or alternatively it may also provide catalytic decomposition of PCDD/F when used with special filtration fabric equipped with membrane and deposited catalytic layer. The other part of the unit consists of two (possibly even more) adsorption beds, serving for the collection of low concentrations of organic compounds. The unit may further be equipped with adsorbent inlet the raw off-gas stream. It is then collected on the fabric filter surface. This equipment thus constitutes a compact unit for combined collection of solid particulate matter, organic compounds and dioxins/furans. It may be equipped with various types of fabric filter bags and adsorption media. Thus it is widely applicable in most branches of industrial production.
