Original Abstract
Finite Element Method (FEM) implemented in COMSOL Multiphysics is used to analyze free-standing frequency selective surfaces (FSS) in a 3-dimensional (3D) space. Practical procedures for using periodic boundary conditions were developed and tested. A case study concerning a mesh grid density vs. results accuracy in a tight relationship with the calculation time needed was worked out.
Keywords
Finite element method, frequency selective surface.
