Original Abstract
The paper deals with an innovated design and implementation of authentication and encryption algorithms for an electrometer communication unit in the Internet network. A symmetric cryptosystem is the basis of the designed process. This system is based on block processing of messages and the AES algorithm, which works in the ECB and CBC modes. A security risk occurred in the previous version, which is corrected in the new version. One of the application areas is the remote data control in power engineering, where the consumption of electric power is read in so-called continual metering.
