Original Abstract
Political risks are the most difficult to evaluate. Unfortunately these types of risks are the most frequent reasons for investment failures if such territories as some countries of Middle East are concerned. This paper provides an introduction to common-sense analysis to political science. It outlines the background and nature of common-sense analysis. It sets out some of the ways in which common-sense analysis can be developed and taking political risks as an example it examines how this analysis could be applied in theory and considers some possible applications. The case study of oil related political risks is presented in details (eight variables and 24 qualitative relations among the variables). No knowledge of qualitative analysis is required.
