Original Abstract

Measurement of oxygen activity in steel castings - from the cast to the solidification. Calculation of thermodynamic equilibrium between oxygen activity and aluminium, silicon and manganese activities in non-alloy steel. Estimation of conditions for the course of carbon reaction in studied castings. Analyse of chemicasl composition of oxide inclusions. Study of bubbles formation in castings in relation to measured oxygen activities, morphology and chemical composition of inclusions.

Keywords

Steel, reoxidation, oxygen activity, oxide inclusions, bubbles.
