Original Abstract
Localization of nodes in wireless sensor networks is area of interest of many research team in the world. Up to date lots of efficient algorithm were already proposed. These can be generally divided into i) anchor-based, algorithms taking advantage of location aware nodes deployed in priori and ii) anchor-free algorithms performing without no superior coordinate system exploitation. Anchor free algorithms work in incremental or concurrent manner. It was proved by recent investigations that concurrent algorithms outperform the incremental in accuracy issue, however during localization dissipate more energy reserves. For some scenarios, outdoor wireless nodes supplied by solar energy e.g., the energy conservation is not priori metric for optimization. We took a most cited concurrent algorithm AFL (Anchor-Free Localization) and compare its accuracy under two known distance estimation methods such as hop counts and signal strength measurement. Further more we have proposed a novel metric WSSM (Weighted Signal Strength Measurement) and compare its efficiency with known mentioned methods. Results of simulation show that WSSM method is effective solution for networks deployed in noisy environment.
