Original Abstract
The task specification of antierror code system projects often contains the optimization requirement. If the scope of optimization is not given already in the task specification, it is difficult to find appropriate optimization criteria. These criteria are usually system properties whose current advantageousness in the system is worth following. A very effective method of securing data transmission against long error bursts has been found in bit interleaving. The following text informs us of the principles and basic possibilities of an antierror coded system designed according to this method. The possibility of applying error-correcting codes of a larger protection capacity than the correction of one failure bit in the code combination leads in the bit interleaving method to the application of an interleaving storage matrix of various dimensions. Knowing several such codes we can, via optimization according to different criteria, choose the most appropriate variant with respect to these criteria. An example of one such procedure is given below.
