Original Abstract

The paper describes the method of measurement of the gradient magnetic field in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) tomography, which is one of the modern medicine diagnostic methods. The very important prerequisite for imaging of high quality is the gradient magnetic field in the instrument with exactly defined properties. Nuclear magnetic resonance gives to us the possibility to measure the pulse gradient magnetic field characteristics with a high accuracy. The interesting precise methods were designed, realised, and tested in Institute of Scientific Instruments (ISI) of Academy of Sciences of Czech Republic. The first of them was Instantaneous Frequency (IF) method, which had been developed into Instantaneous Frequency of Spin Echo (IFSE) and Instantaneous Frequency of Spin Echo Series (IFSES) methods. The above named methods are described in this paper and their comparison is also presented.
