Original Abstract
The paper focuses on interconnecting the destination and the life cycle management (LCM) by applying the classical economic and marketing model of the "product life cycle" to tourist destinations in the Czech Republic. By applying suitably selected indicators with necessary corrections to allow for some other phenomena and processes (e.g. globalization and urbanization), quantitative and qualitative changes in destinations may be observed as a result of the development of the tourist industry in the Czech Republic. The LCM is an application of the Life-Cycle Thinking (LCT) approach whose aim is to steer the life cycle of products and services towards sustainable development. The LCM might be a systematic connection between the destination and sustainable development in, e.g., the Destination Management; it is a set of guiding principles and tools used in areas such as planning, organizing, promotion and decision.-making processes. The LCM is flexible integrated management that includes concepts, techniques and procedures which include environmental, economic and social aspects of products and services.
