Original Abstract

The current situation in engineering production is characterized by the continuously growing complexity of products. There is a demand for precision of shape, dimensions and surface, especially for the functional surfaces of the machined pieces. New kinds of construction materials are being introduced, especially materials of lower specific weight and higher strength, titanium alloys, intermetallic alloys, special laminated materials, semi-finished products made by powder-metallurgical processes and stereolitography.
