Original Abstract
The basic requirement for methods of watermarking digital audio signals is that a watermark embedded in audio data should be sufficiently resistant to being damaged by common methods of audio signal processing. At the same time the embedded watermark should be imperceptible - this means that the quality of original audio signal should be preserved beyond the embedding of watermark into audio data. This article deals with how to verify or determine the quality of watermarked data: it describes both the subjective and the objective methods of quality evaluation of audio signals. This article also deals with the description of a group of algorithms which serve to simulate possible attacks aimed at damaging or removing watermark from watermarked audio data. The result of our practical study is a design of software with user-friendly interface, in which it is possible to objectively determine the measure of quality distortion of watermarked data owing to watermark embedding. And also it is possible to simulate malicious attacks leading to removing or destroying the watermark from watermarked data with subsequent evaluation of the robustness of the watermarking method tested.
