Original Abstract

The RCM guidelines take a top down approach that looks at the potential effects of a functional failure and on the ability to detect the failure, as well as the costs of failure and of maintenance actions. Based on this analysis, inspections and other maintenance tasks are recommended to be performed at specified intervals.. This method was solely applied to the maintenance of large transport aircraft. It is helpful to use this method for maintenance of small aircraft because the complexity and maintenance costs of those airplanes increase and maintenance time decrease. This paper is engaged in the possibility of its application.
