Original Abstract
The amount of the vapours leaving the internal vessel of a bath cryostat depends not only on the heat input of this vessel, but also on the pressure changes in the vessel. This effect is inconsiderable in most cases but it cannot be neglected if the evaporation rate of a low loss helium cryostat is measured. Pressure stability higher than 10 Pa/h is necessary for precise measurements. A pressure controller fulfilling this requirement was designed and tested. It consists of a absolute pressure sensor, an electronic fuzzy controller and a proportional electromagnetic valve. Computer simulation of the system behaviour was used for the controller tuning. The minimization of the final deviation was preferred to the reaction speed. The operational properties of the controller were verified at the tests of a small helium cryopump.
