Original Abstract
An ICP-MS spectrometer Agilent 7500ce, with a plasma generator of 27.12 MHz, power output 1500 W and concentric nebulizer MicroMist with a cooled Scott chamber was used. Linear calibration plots for 1-50 ppb Uranium are in solutions containing 0,5 % HNO3 for 238U. Internal standard 209Bi was successfully used for the suppression of signal of interfering elements (K+, Na+, NH4+, Fe2+, Ca2+, Mg2+, Al3+, NO3-, NO2-, SO42-, Cl-, HCO3-). The silica-based non-polar sorbent (C18) conditioned with the cationic surfactant. The different organic reagents such as 4-(2-pyridylazo) resorcinol, Ammonium pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate, 8-Hydroxyquinoline-5-sulphonic acid and Alizarine S were used as complexing agents for preconcentration of U at pH 5-9. The mixture of acetone and ethanol (1:1) in presence of 1 mol?l-1 HCl was used for elution of uranium. Organic solvents and the excess of acid were removed by evaporation prior to the determination by ICP-MS. The Thamnocephalus platyurus as THAMNOTOXKIT F TM was used for ecotoxicology assessment of water samples after mining and processing of uranium.
