Original Abstract

This article deals with problem of harmonic currents injected to public low-voltage power distribution systems when frequency inverter is used. Frequency inverters are used for supplying asynchronous motors with variable voltage and frequency. Unfortunately, frequency inverters produce a lot of electromagnetic noise to public power supply through power lines and to surrounding devices through radio waves. Only electromagnetic noise distributed through power lines is discussed in the text. We state what are sources of electromagnetic noise in inverter, how can we portion them, how can we suppress them, what is RFI filter, THD and how to measure high harmonic currents and voltage, what are differences if RFI filter is used or not, etc. Second part of this article deals with experimental measuring of high harmonic components with harmonic analyzer BK550.
