English abstract
The drying of sewage sludge is described for the first segment of drying curve by straight line, from the critical point (the second segment) by the exponential curve. The drying time depends on drying temperature, thickness of sludge layer and of granulated limestone addition. The dry organic matter starts to carbonate during the heating over 200 oC. The temperature rises to about 450 oC and organic matter volatiles. The mercury content in the solid phase of sludge decreases. The dry sludge may be used for the clinker production.
