Original Abstract

The connection between the Kolmogorov-Sinai entropy and Lyapunov exponents describing the microscopic dynamics of particle systems, and the quantities characterizing the macroscopic properties of the systems is explained.The problem of identification of Gibbs entropy and coarse-grained information entropy with irreversible thermodynamics entropy is also discussed.
