Plumbing water supply systems are characterised by their hydraulic and thermal behaviour. The paper presents the partial research results of central domestic hot water systems within existing residential buildings, and is primarily aimed at the monitoring of their thermal behaviour. The comfort level of building occupants and the consumption of heat and water are fundamental criteria for systems evaluation and design of their optimum control
