Original Abstract

This paper is oriented to utilize programs, which are installed at IAE for computing aerodynamic characteristics of airfoils, especially XFOIL program. Firstly a suitable parameterization of airfoil geometry is carried. This airfoil description is included into optimization loop where certain part of the loop is presented by XFOIL program. From this program a data for computing value of cost function are obtained. A set of computations was done for different cases of cost function scheme. For optimization was used modified genetic algorithm.
