Original Abstract

Filtered MultiTone Modulation (FMT) is an alternative implementation of Multi-Carrier Modulation (MCM) to the now commonly used implementation of Discrete MultiTone (DMT) and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). FMT modulation commonly implements a frequency-non-overlap QAM modulator bank. An alternative approach is the overlapped modulator bank - Half-overlap subchannel FMT. In the article, a comparison of equalization in overlapped and non-overlapped FMT is realized. The parameter of comparison will be the minimization achieved. Based on exemplary system simulations we realize an analysis of the necessary filter orders of individual DFE equalizer filters for the two implementations.
