Original Abstract

Electrochromic device is similar to battery, it has two electrodes: working and counter electrode. Electrode consists of glass sheet, transparent conductor and electrochromic or ion storage layer. There has to be some conductive electrolyte between them, which is a source of ions that change optical properties of electrochromic device by intercalation or deintercalation process in dependence on potential polarity. In this study thin layers of TiO2 were prepared electrochemically by cathodic reduction of potassium titanium oxalate onto ITO covered glass sheet. The layers generated slightly goldish interference color and their thickness was estimated to 200 - 400 nm.
